30 DAYS TILL GRADUATION!

ALT TEXT
Friend, moi and freshman roommate.

IN 30 DAYS, I WILL NO LONGER BE A COLLEGE UNDERGRAD!!!!

If we're friends on Facebook or Twitter, classmates, or friends in real-life, then you know I can't wait to graduate. Starting today, I am going to go back in time and pull-out photos from the past four years that hold a significance in my life and tell a story. This is to also clue-in my parents, who now read this blog, on what I've been up to (besides plotting world domination) these past--stressful, but wonderful--college years.

The photo above was snapped within the first couple weeks of school with the very first two people I befriended at school. Deborah is on the left and my freshman year roommate, Priya, is on the right.

High off of our newly found freedom (read: away-at-college), Deborah my friend I met on Facebook, Priya my Oregon-bred roommate and me headed to the park for a Christian club barbecue. Once we had enough of meeting and greeting unknown faces, we chased down an ice cream truck for frozen treats and headed to a giant sculpture of American Gothic that stood in the middle of the park. The artwork was barricaded by silver bars. We slyly hopped the barriers, wiggled up the giant suitcase that sat near the old couple and began snapping away with our cameras.

I couldn't believe what I was doing! I was at least 10 feet off the ground, on what was probably a do-not-touch structure. Before college, I was that goodie two-shoes girl. I was (still am) very honest because that's how my parents raised me. Telling a lie for me is harder than getting out of a Chinese finger trap. I literally start to sweat and stutter if I am lying. Therefore, I just don't do it. I'd rather tell the truth than look like a fool telling phony stories.

Anyway, this moment would soon be a symbol for what the next four years would bring. My super conservative side would combine with the free-spirit I always had inside of me. I would allow myself to open up and experience all the new ventures college would bring my way, helping me figure out what type of woman I want to be.
