Did I Mention I Used To Be A Babysitter?

"Listen bag, you behave!"

During the last school year, I picked up a new job that wasn't so much a job as it was a new activity. I became a babysitter! Dragging two munchkins out of bed at the crack of dawn and making sure they got on the camp/school bus was my main call of duty.

I enjoy working with kids because well, I'm a big kid at heart. My friends shoe me off when I rattle on about the latest Phineas and Ferb episode. And they don't understand my obsession with Arthur and the Diary of A Wimpy Kid book series. What I can't understand is why they don't love said shows and books!! Anyway, what I love most about working with kids is how honest and imaginative they are because their minds aren't affected by too many life experiences just yet (I can't tell you how many times I pretended I was on another planet.). Children have a pure and concise way of thinking and I sometimes wish more adults thought this way, but I know that's unrealistic. Kids also say the darnedest things; like in the caption of the photo above.

My job began at 6am, when I would crawl out of bed, stumble to shut off my alarm (after hitting snooze twice), grab my keys and zoom down the highway. As a former busy college kid, this wake up time was not ideal, but I dealt with it because it was the only job that fit into my schedule. And like I said, being a babysitter wasn't all that bad. It's a job I would recommend to any college student :).

To the family I babysat: Hi M, P, S & V!! I miss you guys. Tell DOG I said woof. S, don't cause too much havoc for P. V, girls rule & stay cool on Milky Way Lane. M, you're a nerd.
